This is a really nice smoother! It may be a bit challenging to pull up over jeans, (since the material is not slick but more like a panty hose but thicker), but it can be done with some effort. My hips are 49" and I have tried on a 2x, 1x, and a Large, and I honestly feel like a medium would fit me well also. The 2x and 1x was too big and I feel that it did not hold me in as much as I like, so that's why I got the large. The large actually is comfortable and smoothe's me under my sundresses and controls some of the jiggle, and does not create tummy spillage around the top of the rim. The leg ends right above the knee, so I do not have the thigh fat that would normally stick out with a mid thigh smoother, and this one makes it harder to detect when I sit down the end leg band doesn't have an indention. I think I will order a medium for even extra hold. This is a good buy.
