My daughter (16) can tear up almost anything without trying and has a proven track record of doing just that. Quality and protection was the prime factor on purchasing these leg protectors. I reviewed dozens of other products before deciding on the Schutt Scorpion Triple Flex Leg Guards.My initial assessment of the leg guards are they are extremely light weight and flexible. The adjustable straps and quick connect latches are far superior to the Velcro versions. The guards can easily be adjusted so they are not too tight and not to lose and it only takes seconds to adjust to the right fit. My daughter loves the feel as she stands and squats that the inside padding moves with her legs and the hard outer shell stays in place, like a floating action. They come with some type of jell pack on the knees and other reviews have made comments of them not lasting long. I can see that as they do not seem to be made of really tough material. However, as of this post she has not broken them. We took them out and tried them without the jell packs and they still function and feel secure. So if they do brake in the future I do not think it will affect the quality of the product. The toe covers are removable and she has opted to remove them as they go past her toe just a bit. I can bet the first time she takes a pitch to the toe they will be back in place. LOL With the purchase these leg guards we also purchased the Schutt Sports Youth Catcher’s Comfort Knee Pads. They were a bit of a pain to install as the straps had to be removed but after figuring it out it was rather easy to get them in place.She has now successfully scuffed the leg guards up and taken a few pitches directly to the legs. She feels the protection they provide is awesome and has not complained about being hurt yet. This product may cost a little more than the others but if you’re a concerned parent like me and protection of your loved one is important then this is the best I could find. I will update this review should she experience any issues with using the product and provide any addition information we learn while using it moving forward.In June of 2011 I bought the Schutt triple scorpion catchers leg guards for my daughter who is a catcher on an 18U travel softball team. She used the guards in about four tournaments. Her team then won a bid to play in the 18U Nationals tournament in Illinois in August 2011. First day in the Nationals tournament one of the guards cracked big time on the knee panel. Unbelievable! These things should last years not several weeks. The crack went from a rivet and then several inches to the middle. I will never buy Schutt products again! Oh the best part is I sent an email to the Schutt company along with photos showing how and where it cracked. Their wonderful customer service department just ignored my email and never even had the courtesy to respond----if nothing else to say we are sorry. Cheap product and terrible customer service by Schutt----no let me correct that------Schutt has no customer service! Next time I need quality equipment I will buy Adidas or Rawlings. I would never recommend Schutt products! The only reason I checked off one star is because Amazon would not let me submit this review without at least checking off one star----this product deserves no star.I bought these for my 12u daughter and she loves them. Before she was using Easton Natural leg guards and she likes these better. These are lighter and more comfortable. She also says that she feels more secure with these. The only con is that one of the straps is a little short so if you do not watch it, it will come off.My son out grew his Mizuno catchers gear. So I asked him what gear would you prefer,his answer was Schutt..I cant say after buying this gear Im surprised.As a parent I was pretty much decided on buying Mizuno again,butg now he is very happy He Loves this gear!!!Good Quality. Fit well. We like the ankle guards and the gel packs for the knees.These are far superior to any of the leg guards on our traveling team.great size , very comfy ,lots of protection and lightMy daughter & I both love this gear. Quality materials, great protection, & looks sharp too.Second pair of these, my daughter is a SMALL 14yo playing 16U and loves thes leg guards. Durable and light for easy movement
